Ghana news briefing
I am American, I am Ghanaian: Where do I stand in the reparations conversation?

There can be no complete repair without both, no honest reparations movement without accountability, no meaningful homecoming without belonging, and no African future worth celebrating if we build it by leaving pieces of Africa behind.
They are psychological because generations of African-descended people were taught to despise their skin, hair, names, languages, and sometimes one another.
That is the reparations conversation I want, one rooted in responsibility rather than performance, one brave enough to confront both yesterday and today, and one that does not create another hierarchy of African suffering.
