GAUA Strike: Govt moves to protect academic calendar as universities postpone reopening
The government is stepping up efforts to protect Ghana's academic calendar as the ongoing strike by the Ghana Association of University Administrators (GAUA) disrupts university operations. The University of Ghana and Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) have postponed their scheduled reopening dates for the 2026/2027 academic year amid the industrial action. The Ministry of Education has invited GAUA and the Ghana Tertiary Education Commission (GTEC) to urgent talks aimed at resolving the dispute and restoring normal academic and administrative activities. #JoyNewsToday
