Wa Municipal Hospital seeks urgent support

The entrance of the Wa Municipal hospital Aug - 13 - 2026 , 09:57 2 minutes read The management of the Wa Municipal Hospital has appealed for urgent support to address the hospital’s deteriorating infrastructure, obsolete medical equipment, mounting debts and inadequate funding, warning that the challenges are affecting healthcare.

He said although the facility was downgraded from a regional hospital to a municipal hospital six years ago, it continued to provide specialist and referral services to patients across the Upper West Region and parts of the Savannah Region.

The Medical Superintendent, Dr Abukari Zakari, made the appeal during a by traditional leaders from the Waala Traditional Area to the hospital.
