TMA warns against illegal felling of trees in Tema

The Tema Metropolitan Assembly (TMA) has warned residents against the unauthorised felling of trees in the metropolis, saying the trees play a critical role in protecting residents from the environmental effects of the city’s industrial and port activities.
The MCE said the unauthorised felling of trees was therefore a matter of public concern, particularly in a city where industrial and port-related activities contributed to environmental pressures.
The MCE appealed to residents to desist from activities that undermined the city’s environmental integrity and to work with the assembly to protect Tema’s natural and public assets.
