Sustain gains on maritime security - Danish ambassador urges

The Danish Ambassador to Ghana, Jakob Linulf, has called for sustained efforts to protect the gains made in maritime security in the Gulf of Guinea, cautioning that emerging threats such as overfishing, smuggling and marine pollution continue to pose risks to the region.
Ghana-Denmark partnership Mr Linulf gave assurance that Denmark would continue with its long-term partnership with Ghana and other countries in the region to strengthen maritime security, guided by the priorities and needs identified by local governments.
Marine pollution On the growing problem of plastic and sewage pollution along Ghana’s coastline, Mr Linulf said the country would need solutions suited to its own circumstances rather than directly adopting approaches used in Denmark.
