See the 13 tertiary institutions barred from national service deployment

The National Service Authority (NSA) has blocked the deployment of graduates from 13 tertiary institutions for national service after the Ghana Tertiary Education Commission (GTEC) confirmed that the institutions do not currently have accredited status.

In a statement dated August, 11, 2026, the Director-General of the NSA, Ms Ruth Dela Seddoh, said the authority engaged GTEC to verify the accreditation status of tertiary institutions following requests from schools seeking to deploy their graduating students for national service.

The NSA said graduates from the affected institutions could still be considered for national service after their schools resolved outstanding accreditation issues with GTEC.
