Rev Samuel Anthony Kofi Dunya calls for stronger action against child labour and trafficking

He urged churches to establish child-protection systems, provide safe reporting channels, train church leaders to identify signs of abuse and exploitation, and collaborate with relevant authorities to protect vulnerable children.

He said child labour should not be confused with age-appropriate responsibilities but becomes exploitation when work compromises a child's health, education, safety, development, dignity, or childhood.

Dunya said society must stop treating child exploitation as a private family matter, stressing that every citizen has a responsibility to speak up when children are subjected to abuse, hazardous work, or conditions that deprive them of their childhood.
