Post-regime accountability awaits you – Afenyo-Markin warns GoldBod officials
Mr Alexander Kwamena Afenyo-Markin, the Minority Leader of Parliament, has warned that officials of the Ghana Gold Board will face accountability over alleged reported losses under the Bank of Ghana’s (BoG) Domestic Gold Purchase Programme.
The Minority Leader, also the New Patriotic Party (NPP) Member of Parliament (MP) for Effutu’s comments followed an August 2025 International Monetary Fund (IMF) report, that alleged that the BoG’s Domestic Gold Purchase Programme implemented through GoldBod, recorded losses of more than $1.
Addressing journalists on Tuesday, at the Parliament House in Accra, Mr Afenyo-Markin said the Minority Caucus would continue to demand answers over what it described as significant financial losses to the state.
