Ghana Scholarships Authority denies University of Memphis scholarship deal Termination, says US$500,000 debt payment made

The Ghana Scholarships Authority (GSA) has denied reports that the University of Memphis has terminated its scholarship agreement with the Authority over an alleged US$4 million debt.

GSA Director-General, Alex Kwaku Asafo-Agyei, said the agreement between the two institutions remains in force and that neither an official nor unofficial notice of termination has been served on the Authority.“As we speak, NO OFFICIAL or UNOFFICIAL NOTICE OF TERMINATION HAS BEEN SERVED ON THE GSA,” he stated, adding that there had also been no discussions with the Authority suggesting that the agreement had been terminated or was in the process of being terminated.
