Ghana evacuates 41 more citizens from South Africa amid xenophobic attacks

The returnees were welcomed on arrival at the Accra International Airport by Ambassador Alexander Grant Ntrakwa, Head of Delivery Unit, together with a cross section of Directors from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and officials from other institutions, including the National Disaster Management Organisation, Ghana Immigration Service, Ghana Health Service, Port Health Authority, Ghana Red Cross Society, and the Ghana Armed Forces.

The returnees expressed appreciation to the government for prioritising their safety and welfare by facilitating their safe return and for the support extended to them throughout the evacuation process.

Ambassador Ntrakwa welcomed the evacuees to Ghana and assured them of the Government's continued commitment to ensure their welfare, safety, and successful reintegration into their communities.
