Carlos Queiroz set to stay as Black Stars coach

The uncertainty surrounding Carlos Queiroz’s future as head coach of the Black Stars appears to be nearing an end, with the Portuguese tactician reportedly close to signing a new contract with the Ghana Football Association (GFA).

Queiroz’s continued appointment would provide Ghana with some much-needed stability as the Black Stars prepare for a busy period involving the 2027 AFCON qualifiers and preparations for the 2026 World Cup.

A new contract would see Queiroz lead Ghana into the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers, with the Black Stars aiming to secure a place at the tournament and eventually end their long wait for a major continental title.
