AI strategy implementation begins, 240 civil servants trained

The Minister of Communication, Digital Technology and Innovations said the capacity building programme was part of efforts under the strategy to equip the public service workers with the knowledge required to use AI responsibly and effectively.
The strategy, approved by Cabinet in April 2026, was designed to provide a long-term framework for harnessing AI to support national development while building the capacity of citizens and public institutions to adapt to the rapidly evolving technology, he added.
The government’s investment in AI and digital skills was intended to ensure that Ghana did not merely consume emerging technologies but developed the human capacity and institutional systems required to participate meaningfully in the digital economy, Mr George said.
