- Reports to: Board of Directors
Overview
Key Responsibilities
- Strategic Leadership: Develop and implement short- and long-term strategies aligned with the company’s mission and vision.
- Operational Oversight: Manage overall company operations, resources, and organizational structure to ensure efficiency and effectiveness.
- Business Growth: Drives deposits growth, quality loan portfolio and develops new customer-centric products.
- Decision-Making: Implement major corporate decisions and assess risks to protect and grow the business.
- Board Communication: Serve as the main point of contact with the board of directors, providing updates on performance, strategy, and key initiatives.
- Financial Management: Oversee financial performance, budgeting, and resource allocation to achieve organizational goals.
- Public Representation: Act as the company’s spokesperson, representing the organization to stakeholders, media, and the public.
- Culture and Team Development: Build and maintain company culture, lead senior management, and ensure alignment across teams.
- Performance Evaluation: Track and evaluate company performance against strategic goals and adjust plans as needed.
- The CEO shall reports directly to the Board of Directors and works closely with other Key managers to implement strategic plans and operational initiatives.
Requirements
Required Skills or Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field.
- A Master’s degree and professional certifications (e.g., ICAG, CPA, ACCA, CFA, ACIB, CIMA etc…) is highly desirable.
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in finance, accounting, or operations management within the banking or financial services industry, preferably in the Community banking sector, with at least 5 years in a managerial role.
- Experience and proven track record in Micro-finance. Small and Medium Enterprise loans.
- Proven track record of managing financial and operational teams, driving improvements, and achieving operational targets.
- Visionary leadership and strategic thinking
- Strong financial and business acumen
- High ethical standards, fair and firm
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills
- Ability to inspire and align diverse teams
- Experience in managing complex operations and organizational growth
- Familiarity with corporate governance and board relations.
- Full-time position based at the bank’s headquarters.
- Occasional travel to branch locations and rural communities covering the bank’s operational areas as required.
- Flexible work hours may be necessary to meet deadlines or attend to urgent operational issues.
